If you didn’t already know, I’m a sucker for face masks. I love washing my face at the end of the day and applying face masks. It’s my own “me” time where I just sit and relax for 10-20 minutes while I let the mask do all the work. Aveeno has a new line of Oat Masks that are perfect for cleansing your skin and leaving behind healthy-looking skin.
Aveeno’s line up of new oat masks come in three different types: Moringa Seed (detoxifying), Pumpkin Seed (calming & hydrating), and Pomegranate Seed (brightening and hydrating). I have the moringa seed mask, which is a mix of moringa seed extract and vitamin E, which removes impurities and nourishes your skin. The scent of it is very nice and light. I’m prone to get headaches with strong scents, but this one didn’t affect me at all. I applied it all over my face and left it on for 15 minutes. The packaging says to leave it on for 5-10 minutes, but I wanted to enjoy that time to myself haha.
It’s worth noting that this face mask does not dry into a hard mask, like some clay masks. It stays almost exactly the same way it was when applied. Taking it off was easy – I actually used the Facial Mask Mates from EcoTools to apply and remove. As the mask was still a bit “creamy”, it did take several passes with the sponge to remove. It was worth the work, because my skin felt refreshed and looked even better. At the time of using, I did have some redness due to breakouts, and after using the mask, my skin did appear less red.
Aveeno’s Oat Masks cost $14.49 CDN at Shopper’s Drugmart. The price is actually well worth it, because comparing to it single use sheet masks which cost anywhere between $4-10, you’ll get multiple uses out of this container. The overall price will be much lower per use, making it a well spent investment.
