It’s almost been a year since Huda Beauty’s The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette came out, and I FINALLY got my hands on it. I don’t usually spend a lot of money on cosmetics (well, on ONE specific product to be exact), but I had to pick this palette up during Sephora’s 15% off sale. I’ve been on the hunt for a matte palette that focuses more on soft pinks, purples, mauves and I couldn’t find anything that fit what I was looking for. I decided to get this palette because majority of the shades in it are what I’m looking for, and they look nice against my skin/hair.
The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette has 18 shadows that range from mattes, pearls, and glitters. I’m not a huge fan of some of the darker shades, but I think if I use them sparingly on the outer corners of my eyes, it would make for a nice smoky look. Out of the 18 shadows, 10 of them are matte, 4 are glitters, 2 are shimmers, 1 is a pearl, and then there is one that is a concealer base. When I was reading up on the shades, it was cool to see that aloe vera and coconut oil are used in the matte shades, and acacia, jojoba, and sunflower wax are used in the pearl shade. These ingredients help each type of shadow stay pigmented and last on your skin longer. They’re also natural, so less chemicals!
Since the shades are so pigmented, if you want a lighter, more natural look, I would suggest going very lightly with them. You can always apply more on your eyelids to darken the shades, but can’t really lighten it unless you remove it all.
I honestly bought this palette for the matte shadows, but once I played around with the shimmers and glitters, I knew I had made the right choice in purchasing this. I love how the shimmer and glitter shadows look on me, and after practicing different looks, I know to have a light hand with them so I don’t over do it.
Huda Beauty’s The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette is available at Sephora for $86 CDN. Yes, it’s expensive and it’s the most I’ve ever spend on eyeshadow… but if this will last me a while and I will use majority of the shades, then I think it’s worth the investment! But.. maybe wait for another sale from Sephora haha.
