I have never been the type to dress up unless I was going out for an event or on vacation. Before I went to Bali, I bought a bunch of different outfits that would be perfect for the warmer weather. I always find that when I go away, I tend to wear nicer outfits, so I figured I should continue this while I’m back home as well. I’m used to wearing leggings and sweatpants every day, unless I go to work. Well so far this year I’ve been rocking all my vacation outfits throughout the summer and I’m loving it!
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might remember My Favourite Places to Shop for Clothes post. You’ll know Urban Planet is actually my #1 favourite place to buy all my clothes (for work, the gym, weddings, etc). I’m actually obsessed. They’re honestly so affordable and carry every type of clothing. I wouldn’t say everything is the best quality, but I’ve gotten great use out of some pieces, while others might be only good for a couple of wears. I’ve had more great pieces than bad.. and for the price, I cannot complain.
Urban Planet has a million products, and since I bought these months ago, they’re not available to buy online anymore. BUT you can find so many similar items. I promise you’ll find something you love at Urban Planet!
This navy blue and white stripe romper is my number one pick this summer. It was great while I was away on vacation and even better for every day wear at home! The material is light, which is perfect for scorching hot days. It’s flowy too, so if I’m feeling bloated, it’s sure to hide any problem areas haha. If I remember correctly, this cost me ~$20 CDN.
I was going to a wedding back in May and was so last minute in getting an outfit. I picked up this dress the day before the wedding and it was so cute! Paired up with these cute pink wedges (that are also from Urban Planet!), it really makes the dress look more elegant. The dress was $35 CDN and the shoes cost around $20 CDN. The dress was very comfortable since the bottom half way light and flowy. Again, perfect for covering up my problem areas (thighs and stomach).
When I was shopping for clothes to take on vacation, I knew I wanted a jumpsuit that would be used for going out at night. This jumpsuit was ~$20 CDN and I have worn it a number of times now. The material is so soft, and the floral print on it makes it seem much fancier, especially when paired up with a necklace.
If you’re not a size 0/small, you might have a little problem finding shorts that fit properly since prom gown stores seem to think everyone is a stick. Urban Planet has been the only store that I have been able to find shorts that are high waisted, and long enough to cover my whole butt. These shorts are my favourite, and let me actually dress for the weather! Every summer until now, I’ve just worn leggings or long skirts to avoid showing my legs (cellulite anyone?). Paired up with this crop top from Sirens (who is owned by the same company), this outfit is summer approved!
If you’re looking for some cheap finds, definitely check out Urban Planet!
What’s your favourite summer piece from Urban Planet that I picked? Let me know!
