One thing that I’ve often thought about, but am too scared to actually do anything about, is lip plumping. I don’t have big lips by any means, and I’m afraid if I did get them filled that they might look extremely fake. But it’s something that’s always crossed my mind. I’ve seen so many girls online and in person with them done, and to tell the truth, I often find them too extreme. However, when I do find someone with natural looking filled lips, I get a bit envious. When the PRIMP Network notified me that they would be sending me PMD’s Kiss Lip Plumping ($139 USD) device to review, I was so excited. I could finally get the chance to have fuller lips naturally without getting any needles!
The Kiss Lip Plumping device is an anti-aging, lip line reducing treatment. It uses pulsating vacuum technology which creates a fuller appearance of the volume in your lips. If used daily, you will be boosting the collagen in your lips and creating long-lasting plumped up results. When purchased, you’ll also get their Smart Lip Plumping Serum, two changeable kissers (silicone mouth piece), and a charging cable.
To use the Kiss device, you start by applying PMD’s Smart Lip Plumping Serum($30 USD) onto clean, dry lips. Power on the Kiss Lip Plumping device and place it onto one area of your lips. Leave it on for about 15-20 pulses and then move onto the next area. You will go around your lips in about 6 sections. The device has 2 speeds which give you an instant boost, or a longer lasting look.
I was a bit skeptical to use this at first because of the huge Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge and seeing how many people had bruising, blistering and even infections on/around their lips. I took the time to read other reviews and watch videos to see how to properly use this device to avoid any issues. I’m happy to report that after using it several times, there has been NO bruising or blistering. To be truthful, the only thing I did notice was the increase of my natural lip colour and the disappearance of the fine lines. I didn’t find that it made my lips any more plump. I found the Smart Lip Plumping Serum to be more like a thick cream than a serum and it was very tacky. When I think of a serum, I expect an oily texture, so I was disappointed to find that it was more of a paste. I assume it has peppermint oil in it because it tingled my lips as soon as I applied it.
I actually enjoyed using this, as it was different than anything I’ve ever tried before. My friend helped me research this before using it, and I gave it to her to try out too. I noticed a lot more colour in her lips and less fine lines as well. But again, no real difference in the plumpness of her actual lips. I am sure after continual sessions we would both see more of a difference. Overall, I’m content with this little device. It does show some change in my lips, which gets my mind away from getting injections. Even though I haven’t seen a huge difference in my lips, I am definitely going to continue to use this and see how I can use it better to achieve better results.
