I have liked Kat Von D ever since she appeared on LA Ink back in 2007. I’ve always admired her style and beauty, so it was no surprise that I’ve loved her makeup line. I’m not one to always wear perfume because it gives me headaches, but I really wanted to try Kat Von D’s Saint & Sinner Eau de Parfum since I like her makeup. I received these sample bottles for free, in return for my review. Seeing as I’m not huge into perfumes, I never knew that Kat Von D had such popular fragrances. Over the past 8 years, fans have asked for Kat Von D to bring back this infamous perfume duo. The scents are exactly the same, but the bottles have been revamped to showcase a new look created by Kat herself.
The two fragrances are Saint and Sinner. Saint is a dreamy, romantic and alluring floral fragrance which is inspired by Kat’s own duality. She is tough and tattooed on the outside, but totally sweet at heart! This gourmand perfume fuses jasmine and Tiaré flower top notes with a delicious heart of mandarin, caramel, and sparkling Mirabelle plum. Vanilla, sandalwood, and creamy musk build to the romance of the fragrance, imparting a warmth that reminds Kat of falling in love for the very first time. Saint is a poetic exploration of the lesser-known, softer side of Kat Von D.
Sinner is a dark, sultry, and empowering, this addictive fragrance is inspired by Kat’s own duality. A little sweet, a little spicy, and undeniably fearless. Cinnamon spices up vanilla and white florals at the heart of the fragrance, while base notes of vetiver, patchouli, and wood form the deeper, darker nuances. Experience confidence in a bottle – Sinner is the fragrant embodiment of the edgy, unapologetic, and outspoken Kat Von D we know and love.
I never had a chance to smell or use the original perfumes, so I can’t say if they smell 100% like they used to. But I can say that I enjoy Saint much more than Sinnner! The great thing though is that you can layer these two perfumes for a completely new scent! I like to wear Saint throughout my day, and at night add a mix of Saint/Sinner over top of the old scent. It’s great to see a brand stick to the same look and feel, and stay true to their product line. I don’t think I would buy these perfumes because they are too expensive for something I won’t regularly wear, after all, scents give me headaches. However, I have read many reviews of people LOVING these scents – there is a reason why they brought them back! I would highly recommend picking up a bottle of Saint if you’re into the sweet vanilla scents.
