For the past couple of weeks nail art has seemed more of a chore. I tend to go through phases where all I want to do is nail art, and other times I want to focus more on beauty. I need to find a good balance between the two. I saw this GORGEOUS mani from Canadian Nail Frantic who used all the polishes from my new Summer Galaxy 2.0 Collection (my = Beyond the Nail) and I knew I had to do something similar!
I started by painting my nails with one coat of Beyond the Nail – Bright White. While it was drying, I painted on liquid latex around each nail for easy cleanup after sponging on the gradient. When everything was dry, I sponged on vertical gradient on each nail using 5 of the polishes from Beyond the Nail’s Summer Galaxy 2.0 Collection (I didn’t have enough room to use all 6!). It took about 3-4 coats to get the right opacity for this gradient since the polishes have a jelly consistency. When everything was dry, I placed on a Quatrefoil Nail Guide from Beyond the Nail and sponged over each nail with Beyond the Nail – Deep Black. I peeled away the nail guides and was left with this gorgeous design! I should have waited a bit longer for the polish to dry because when I put on my topcoat (OPI – Start to Finish), it smeared the black polish.
